www.reactnativeexpress.com :D Thanks for the great feedback! I should probably link to the React Native version somewhere.

Yes! You can directly include the React library via a script tag, or however else you want. However, it's definitely most common to use node to bundle your app with webpack, browserify, rollup, etc.

Great job Expo team! :) I think between Sketch and Create-React-Native-App, you guys are solving the single biggest problem in React Native right now: getting started. The relatively complex environment setup really discourages newcomers. O

The "React" part is the same regardless of web or native. But there are a lot of other concerns for web (css, DOM stuff, and integrating libraries that use those two). Ideally web is just another taraget :) https://gith

For sure! There was definitely demand to know more about Couchbase Mobile at my class, so I know it's relevant for people using RN.

I'd be interested in hearing from people who have learned through this site, but my aim is: One should be able to learn React Native directly through this tutorial, without starting with React for web. The main prerequisite is ES5 Java

I honestly haven't tried Couchbase mobile or CloudantSync. I got a few questions about Couchbase when I was teaching my last class on RN, and I've been meaning to try it. It sounds powerful and popular.

I have seen it done, so it's definitely possible, but haven't tried myself. My guess would be you probably need to know the native side on iOS/Android decently well for this, but I'm just speculating here.

Totally agree with you on that. When I have a little more time I'm gonna add that. The compiled output starts out awesome with the first few sections, and then just gets tedious and weird.

From the beginning, we always wanted it to be free for developers. Mainly because we, as developers, want our tools to be free and open source. And an IDE is such a difficult problem that it really needs the community to make it successful.

This is actually a pretty interesting perspective. I hadn't really thought about how I basically use my Mac like a shiny silver Linux box. But it is so very nice and shiny... well anyway... Deco is an Electron app, so it should build f

Linux support would be awesome too. Based on our beta, we got twice as many signups for Windows as Linux, so we're probably gonna prioritize Windows support unless we get a lot of sudden Linux interest.

It's an Electron app, so it should build for Windows without too much trouble. If you're interested, give it a shot and let us know how it goes :) None of us are Windows experts, so happy to take any pull requests for Windows su
