Tangentially related, but emails are often auto-deleted by 'cloud' email services (Hotmail, Google etc) when the email is sent from a server-side script like PHP mail(), therefore it is not unheard of for emails to be auto-deleted when it i

Normally I would try to be fair to the registrar, after all we are only hearing one side of the story, but it is very hard to defend a piece of shit company like GoDaddy and frankly I don't have much sympathy for anyone who continued to pay

vuely.com stuck out, could imagine a photo app or something being called that, someone beat me to it though. Be interested to see if any of these ever come back to HN as success stories.

I can't imagine anything worse than Apple buying Dropbox. Worst case scenario is within 3 months Linux and Android support would be dropped, and the whole app would be redesigned with faux leather and page turn animations. I think Apple wou

You think it is only American bloggers who have a concern? That's nonsense. This is human rights, basic human rights. Women in Saudi are treated like pets, and it should be judged abhorrent by any (relatively) civilised society.

I don't buy Apple products anymore but when I did I always waited until at least the 2nd generation of a new product or significant product redesign. The first release is essentially just a public beta and best avoided completely.
