I think crypto will only have long-term success or maturity if the unwilling people such as myself combined with the general population will be compelled or feel obligated to use any of it, to the same level of utility such as electricity o

We can fix the Earth's ecology from the damage of the last century and expand into space at the same time - these are not mutually exclusive. There can be enough people and funding to do both. And even better - the technology develop

Every respectable hacker remembers the spec of their first computer. 286 + 1MB RAM + 40MB hard drive. This was 1992 and it was valued about 1000$.

I've recently coded something like this, however with significant differences from what OP is presenting. Here are the most important differences: - Using a zsh plugin, it works for every command that I run, but only if I need it, so i

Why not `thiserror` for executables as well? It happened to me a few times that I started to write an executable program, but then realized I want to embed its functionality in a library. Converting from `anyhow` to `thiserror` at that stag

LALRPOP is one of the friendliest syntax parser generators that I ever worked with in any language. If only issue [1] would be fixed, it would make it much better. [1] https://github.com/lalrpop/lalrpop/issues/

Perhaps not impossible - sometime after 2040, a deep learning model reconstructs the entire "Titanic" (the James Cameron film) from a total of 1,000 frames, the script, and voice samples of the actors.

Thanks! This is really needed in a world of constantly distractedly updated news feeds and doomscrolling. I'll try having this in a tab, F5 once a day. Just to get that feel of "I know what's going on".

Assuming that Github static pages infrastructure is maintained without breaking CNAMEs for the next half century, and assuming you pay for your domain 50 years in advance, maybe the static website can remain for that long?
