The author makes a really good point. I always felt that spending time learning the Nix language would be a complete waste of time (for me), which is why I never ventured into using it (although I do use the Lix[1] package manager, which is

You get the same advantage with AMD, but better, thanks to AMD's superior GPUs. You might not personally care about 3D, but a lot of DEs and apps use features that benift from GPUs these days (even websites make use of them now!), so t

For me, it was 2023, when Bazzite came out and I installed it on my ThinkPad - I loved the whole concept of immutable distros and having to never worry about updates again. It was solid enough to be used for both gaming and productivity.Reg

I wonder if this could also be used on immutable distros as a way to make temporary or even semi-permanent changes, like installing a system-level app such as a VPN (I ask because the built-in layering solution on distros like Fedora Atomic

Although endof10.org isn't really targeting businesses, the switch to Linux can be doable, depending on the size and age of the organisation. Usually, smaller and younger organisations these days tend to lean heavily into SaaS / c

Canonical keeps doing stupid, anti-user, anti-community stuff constantly, to the point that many people consider them to be the Microsoft of the Linux world. For instance, not long ago, they were including ads/Amazon results in the App

You're right, I just checked the Arch package and it has a non-optional dependency on the nodejs package[1], which means you're forced to install it even if you don't use it. That sucks. :( [1] https://archlinux.or

Are you sure that was Zed? I see that it's 98.3% coded in Rust. But if you're right and it still depends on node.js, I'll have to scratch that off my list.

This is awesome, only wish it was a 486DX2 with 4/8MB RAM instead, that would increase the possibilities of running more heavier operating systems, like Windows 95. Also, is there a mention of the refresh rate of the display? I wonder

This is the exact reason why I haven't killed Ganon yet, in spite of putting 400+ hours into the game. Now I look forward to starting all over again - this time in 4K and with hopefully better performance, once I get my Switch 2.
