First of all, I want to be respectful of the parent comment, much much respect for all the hard work that it must be. To your question, prenatal screening is a thing, but maybe non-invasive techniques (that don’t risk miscarriage) are newer

I had the same experience with a endoscopy/colonoscopy at Palo Alto Medical Foundation / Sutter Health. We should crowdsource a guide to navigating healthcare in Northern California, it’s utterly fucked up. Even getting a primary

It doesn’t have to be all-in or all-out. They may outsource the bulk of it and bring in house borderline, not clear cut, or critical data points.

When my family arrived to Miami in 1999 one of the first things we did was make use of the public library. I checked out probably every goosebump book as I learned English. Thank you R.L. Stine, I learned English as a 10 year old by reading

Hah our Subaru does this where it defaults to playing the radio at some volume whenever you “boot up” the car. I’ve got no idea what station is selected as the boot up station but every time I turn on our car it plays static. How about no s

I thought I noticed this in one of the Netflix movies I watched with my wife: * audio sounded odd, like it was dubbed but it did match facial expressions. It lacked any reference to culture or geography, like it was made to simply swap out

The problem with dictators is that they don’t stop at their borders. In fact they don’t do boundaries and behave as though there’s nothing outside of their control or influence, including you and your children. Plenty of people should worry

This is a great point. Part of what I’ve liked about iPhone shot videos is sound and stabilization. So maybe there are some of those aspects which dedicated cameras could do better without stepping up the resolution.

Yes I was wondering if the smartphone push into 8k is almost coming from the expected future of VR, but it may offer benefits for users before getting all the way to VR playback like you mention. Collect all the video at a higher resolution

Your comment is knee jerk funny, but not generally helpful. I thought the test was fun to do, even on a mobile touch screen. Vertical drag and drop from mobile did seem to mess with it but I simply dropped and reset the piece.
