it hasn't been updated in ages, which is a shame really as last time I checked a lot of the super useful commands (like transforming an issue into a PR) were not working because of the v3 API

this was exactly what I thought. Plus I don't know if it is the HN effect or not, but it's hella slow and unusable right now.

hopefully this doesn't happen. Backbone is fine as it is.

Backbone is very minimalist, which is great because it gets out of your way and you rarely end up bundling huge unused chunks of code with your app. However it also means that you're going to have to write a decent amount of boilerplates an

* why did you choose Heroku and MongoHQ rather than EC2? Isn't Heroku super expensive once you get past the weekend project scale? * why do you choose to extend views rather than using mixins? * what was your experience with requireJS asi

agreed, how come this article doesn't link to any more serious publications? I'm tired of dumb journalists using science to make a quick buzz. It's like that kid who had allegedly found a way to derive more energies by making solar panels i

you might want to check out this awesome podcast by very serious node contributors/programmers: http://nodeup.com They often talk about upcoming conferences, meetups and other interesting stuff like good modules, good ways to do things, e

npm is vastly better than the gem package manager imo, making using modules infinitely easier. Furthermore, node modules (the good ones) do one thing and do it right. What I like about node is they give you the core without which you can't

definitely agree with this. I can understand why 37signals use RoR, because they built it and know it inside out. But for a newcomer diving into rails now is difficult because the ecosystem is so huge it's hard to navigate, and everything i

html and css source is not execution. Getting distribution, partnerships, sales, etc. right is execution, especially since they don't clone tech-intensive companies (or at least not the tech-intensive parts)
