It's a good post and I strongly agree with the part about level setting. You see the same tired arguments basically every day here and subreddits like /r/ExperiencedDevs. I read a few today and my favorites are: - It cannot w

You can ask it to do this, in your initial prompt encourage it to ask questions before implementing if it is unsure. Certain models like o4 seem to do this more by default rather than Claude that tends to try to do everything without clarif

Problem is most users will not care or understand it. Someone will spoof the dialog without the special icon or phrase and users would still enter the password.

The only real example I can think of is the US options market feed. It is up to something like 50 GiB/s now, and is open 6.5 hours per day. Even a small subset of the feed that someone may be working on for data analysis could be huge.

It looks like those horribly edited gift mugs I see on amazon occasionally, where someone just puts the image over the mug without accounting for the 3D shape. Too many variants to actually take the image. Would have been an excellent examp

That one is an odd example.. especially since image #3 does a similar task with excellent accuracy in keeping the old image intact. I've had the same issues when trying to make it visualize adding decor, it ends up changing the whole r

This is sorta what customers expect. When they want a refund or have a problem, they ask the developer. They don't understand the payments are all going through apple AND that apple is responsible for all billing support. There is no w

Same issue but we actually got the account assigned to the new company, but I think the DUNS was still the old company so any time they require verification (e.g. for trader status), the account is stuck in some weird state that is halfway

Great summary. I will add to this: > Apple’s response: charge a 27 percent commission (again tied to nothing) on off-app purchases, where it had previously charged nothing, and extend the commission for a period of seven days after the c

Previously they were ordered to allow outside payments. Apple “complied” by requiring a 27% cut on all outside payments (slight discount to cover the cost of Stripe or whatever), a massive scary popup saying that outside sites can’t be trus

The DUNS number thing is such a disaster even for companies with it. We had a the account under a DUNS of a subsidiary but somehow they wanted us to upload verification docs for the main company, of course not matching exactly how they expe

It can definitely make up reasoning (including code) for how it got to an answer. However o3 can run python actually. I tried uploading an image and it ran a bunch of scripts to crop and change the brightness in an attempt to get a clearer

The new image generation released two weeks ago or so is a massive improvement, doesn't look like typical AI slop. Everyone in these threads that dismisses AI needs to remember 5 years ago we didn't have somewhat human level intel

Note the use of the Caddy webserver (you could also use nginx or whatever), which proxies to the port, so it's just myapp.localhost. I like this because it mirrors our production site. We can have subdomain.myapp.localhost and subdomai

The problem is non-react chart libraries can be a bit cumbersome to use in React. For example, D3 controls the DOM itself through various transformations. React is not aware of these updates and combining react's state based DOM manipu
