Fake news. Anyway, at dome future point people will search HN for bitcoin price predictions. I have a million dollars on this one. Mock me now, and next year you will have forgotten this conversation ever happened. And thus you will not lea

Yes. I expect it will surpass $100k next year, maybe hit $200k, then crash down to $50k in 2023. Media will declare it dead. By 2025 it will be back up over $1M and “dead” again at ~$500k in 2027. Then another ATH in 2029, 2033, 2037,2041

That math doesn’t add up. There are only ever going to be 21 million bitcoin, 19 million are in private hands, and the remaining 2 million will be mined over the next 120 years. A billionaire is worth 1,000 million dollars. If there are 2,8

That ratio of total gold yo gold that is trading (or mined each year) is called the “stock to flow”. It’s quite a fascinating metric. For instance, it dhows that silver is a commodity rather than a precious metal. Bitcoins stock to flow n

Bitcoin will hit $100k next year. I expect it will top out around $400k-$500k before falling down to ~$65k in 2022.... only to start running again and easily exceed $1M per coin in 2025. This may seem absurd to make such predictions, but it

Bitcoin is a scarce asset with little to no execution risk. A tuna fleet is a business subject to the whims of the market with execution risk. Since equities have been the primary investment medium fir years, people think of Bitcoin like a

SEE is a show I expected to hate but really loved. It looks hetter than any l movie on my iphone (I think they are using really wide dynamic range and color gamut, which is ironic given the premise.) Ted Lasso was great too. I just wish App

If you read the bitcoin core release notes going back at least the past 5 years, and look at the road map, every release and every planned addition has improved scalability— many of them very significant improvements. The “bitcoin doesn’t s

That’s not the status quo at all. You can buy a raspberry pi 4, a 1TB SSD, and have a perfectly functional bitcoin node, and lightning node and BTCPAY server all in one for close to $200. Secondly, Lightning isn’t “additional complexity” f

I think it is a mistake for me to fight the “NSA created bitcoin” narrative. I am gleeful at Nelson not owning any bitcoin and want all like him who reject it for ideological reasons to continue to misunderstand it. Freedom and human right

Bankers make money via The Cantillion effect. Frankly, your response shows how revolutionary bitcoin is- it’s been ten years and you haven’t learned enough about it to understand it. That’s fine, most people haven’t, and bitcoin isn’t read

You’re projecting your temptation into people based on your values, as is Nelson. But you are not Satoshi. Satoshi faces risk worse than Edward Snowden. The central bankers are far more formidable. And the solution is easy: Satoshi mined

Bitcoin was designed by an individual with intimate knowledge of the state of the art in suspicions of NSA backdoors. You are assuming Satoshi is sitting on money. Satoshi took care to hide it’s identity, and thus would have switched min
