Note that there are different variants of the Julian Date: For example, the Julian Date(Universal Time 1) drifts against Julian Date(Terrestrial Time), with the former being based on Earth's rotation, the latter being an idealized time

Hmmm, am I wrong in understanding that, by pretending leap seconds don't exist, the unix time actually represents how many seconds passed rather than what time time is now? It's the other way around: Unix time pretends every day

It's true that due to the large mass of Jupiter, the barycenter of the solar system lies outside the surface of the sun. However, the barycenter of any sun/planet 2-body system besides Jupiter lies within the sun's surface, s

In my opinion, that would make things even worse: The sentencing clearly states that the earth revolving around the sun "is a proposition absurd and false in philosophy, and formerly heretical", and by that time, Copernicus's

Ohh I miss the good old days of forums in general. I find all this new software, where conversions are "threaded" stupidly hard to read. A 'classical' web forum is threaded, contrasting with an unthreaded (bulletin)

Historically, goroutines worked like in libdill, only passing control to the scheduler on certain calls. So did the Go runtime suddenly become a VM at version 1.14, when preemption was added? And why the distinction between OS threads and g

Would you consider the C runtime a virtual machine once you link against libdill or use OpenMP? If not, why not? If so, well, then we just disagree on the term 'virtual machine'. My litmus test would be the presence of some sort o
