We currently use short-lived feature branches, merged via Pull Requests (+ review / automated testing) into the main development line. This way, we can communicate changes in a detailed manner before they are added to the product and m

React is simple while it's extremely complex at the same time; the library's concept is actually not that complicated and the API is relatively small. A lot of developers struggle when it comes to architecting, though. I know many

A lot of people say, learning React makes you a better developer. I think, what they actually mean, is functional programming.

We use eval because we have around 60k LOC now and they were just too slow. The hanging occurs if you reload the page, it hangs a few seconds, then a message concerning websockets pops up in the dev tools and then the page reloads.

Oh, the Firefox UI for macOS is horrible. The Developer version looks way better.

Frankly: speed. As a web developer it notice it all the time. Chrome (using Canary) is faster in every aspect; Firefox renders slowly, becomes unresponsive over time, hangs often when using web sockets (webpack); the developers tools seem t

I program in a lot of other languages and Java always looks like 120% boilerplate to me. I am not sure yet how well the REPL can handle that.

Oh they add a REPL. I know the REPLs from other languages and I know Java. I doubt, that's going to be something I would ever have fun with.

Yes, you are right, the speed is great and the concept is actually quite interesting. What annoys me is the fact that they broke the UX on iOS (don't know about other platforms); - you cannot scroll to the top by typing on the bar at t

I recently submitted a bug in the search to DDG. It's very nice to be able to help improve the project. And the bug reporter is neat. Never seen anything comparable in competitive products.

That is the workflow I currently use, too. Luckily, Leiningen reloads most of my changes. I wished, though, there was the ability to save the current name space from the REPL. Hacking together a couple of functions and save their definition

I am familiar with the concept of Clojure's reply but I am always wondering how one gets code out of it eventually.

Pinterest is even worse - in Google Images, images are listed but once you enter the site, you're blocked from accessing whatever you have been looking for.

I looked at ElasticBeanstalk back then, and - frankly - to me it sounds like an overcomplicated PaaS product. If I understood it correctly, they basically "just" tie together a bunch of services for you. I was expecting something

Still wondering why AWS does not provide a solid PaaS solution like Heroku does (they are on AWS, though) - or am I just overlooking it? I would like to host a few node.js/Clojure apps but I don't want to have the hassle with virt

Thanks for pointing to the JavaDoc. I actually read it before commenting but got it wrong in my head. "find" would have been better here.

It's actually nice to open a repository of an application with a complexity like that one and just see a few files, no crazy folder structures, no insane build scripts or similar.

I hate the scrolling on mobile (iOS). I don't know what they tried to do, it feels like a JavaScript smooth scrolling on top of native smooth scrolling.
