I work with JavaScript and related technologies every day and I am still annoyed to setup new projects because if half a year had passed, everything seems to be different - especially in the React ecosystem (at least from my POV).

I have founded three companies in the last three months (2 GmbHs, 1 UG), and I think the amount of bureaucracy is fair. I highly recommend choosing a good notary and tax accountant, they can guide you. My advise is to invest the money in b

I am wondering how a globally distributed team is set up from a law perspective. How can I employ someone from another company? Create a subsidiary in their country?

I know about one. Three other banks where I have accounts, users are allowed to use passwords with a maximum length of 16 characters, which are also restricted in the way that you cannot choose freely. Things like & or { are usually for

I really would like to use Temporal Tables (slides 137 and following) to say like 'give me the record of last week'. I can of course do that already manually, but it is tedious and I hope it will be faster if implemented directly.

I wished they would implement more from SQL:2011. I have a lot of applications that would benefit from system versioned tables. This is a good sum up of useful modern SQL features: https://www.slideshare.net/MarkusWinand

We tried Teams and returned to Slack. Broken notifications and horrible SharePoint magic behind the scenes. The way Teams is organized confused some of my team. Interestingly, we also had a lot of problems with Skype for Business. The dark

I am not really aware of a suitable location over here - sadly. Yes, the exhibition area is huge, but does not really fit their needs. Would have been neat, anyway.

I have written an example web application for my cloud computing lecture. The code is not pretty nor 100% functionally and there are some bugs, but it shows how my applications work. It's just for demonstration purposes and therefore k

In my experience, (O)RDBMS and SQL are very good solutions for most of the business cases. I know a lot of projects that jumped on the "NoSQL for everything" train and eventually migrated partly to a RDMBS. I often don't unde

Those reports are usually printed and sent to members. Therefore, even the 2000 pages report needs to be well-formatted and layouted correctly, including addresses, brand images and stuff. Amount wise it really feels like a dump, yes.

Frankly, we were not able to find something suitable. It needed to be fast (our largest report has like 2000 pages), needed to support advanced layouting (images outside of usual print margins, multi-pages tables with continued headers, ...

I could think of denormalization; e.g. you have an entitiy that can have 0..n tags and you want to speed up the retrieval, I could think of arrays being a faster way.

Using Docker for Clojure and JavaScript development here. I actually don't have these issues. There is a performance loss, sure, but not nearly as much as you describe it.
