Item #2 relates to reflecting on your work, Reflective Practice. Give Donald Schon's book The Reflective Practitioner a read (or heck, the Wiki page). It deals with being able to rise above work and improve how you work.

Just search "rimworld mods" and you'll find lots of people talking about which to use. Most are quality of life improvements.

Love those games too. Rimworld is the latest in my opinion. All the fun of Factorio and Dwarf Fortress plus a fairly good UI and space faring feel. Wasted/played too many hours. Make sure to use mods too. On steam.

If you’re going to study something, study it where you can best measure it. Develop your tools and methods. Create theories on this and apply them to new, more difficult domains... hopefully get feedback and insights from the larger communi

Cameras can be used ethically in public and semi-public areas. While I don't know if we have official/specific guidelines in the US, I'm sure with a little effort we could create some that would allow for their very effective

I wonder how far away we are for this being automated? I'm sure it could be done now, but accuracy, especially for more dense and difficult books, would be lacking.

Evidence shows getting involved has little impact. Only money. This quip we always talk about is not true when you analyze the data. You’re going to hear more and more about this in the coming years: https://scholar.princeton.edu

I love the idea, but many of the intrinsic rewards for technologists in tech, don’t exist in politics. Many issues can be solved fairly easily if we calm down, take a look at experiences and data, and apply solutions that have been shown ef

Agreed. I came for rational but saw none. There seems to be a lot of hate for Docker I don’t understand. Is it community management? Is it some esoteric tech concern? Can someone more knowledgeable pipe in?

I'd love to see how expressive they are. Many times, these kits are really good at building exactly what's in the directions, and not much else. Would love to see some blogger or other independent to get a kit and play around. Con

This guy. Fun at parties. ;) A good point but most would think of the two the same. I know I had a hard time getting some ideas across on some research I was doing until I separated these two concepts out. Then people started to understand.

The author of this needs to write a few more on other topics. The succinctness and simplicity (i.e. minimum bits) is a nice change from so many documentation sites. Can Amazon get him to rewrite their documentation?

If you want to protect your secrets, you should patent them so when someone figures out your secret, or in this case your creative idea, you have a leg to stand on. Otherwise, they figure out your secret or idea and you have nothing. This i

I think people should know how stark the differences for assembly in the US are vs outside of it. Something that costs, at low prototype volumes mind you, $20 in China for a dozen boards or so, would run hundreds of dollars in the US and st

Again, this. When you publish work on the Internet, others can link and use it, no problem. For best results, have clear attribution (which they clearly show the link). I think people are too quick to anger here. This guy was already provid

The problem with molecular modeling/ protein folding algorithms is that each molecule interacts with every other molecule. So, you have an n^2 problem. Sure, hueristics get this way down to nlogn but what fundamentally slows it is not
