You're trusting somebody to run random stuff on your machine and you're trusting them to not do something like this: https://www.idontplaydarts.com/2016/04/detecting-curl-pipe-b...

Doesn’t this mean that you can never change your password for a given site? E.g. if some retailer leaks a bunch of data and is storing passwords in plain text or something, I want to be able to rotate my password for that website.

I don’t think I claimed otherwise. I’m assuming you’re talking about this: > If you want to buy drugs, do it the old fashioned way - you know, the way society did it for thousands of years prior to bitcoin. I’m more making the case that

Why move the goal posts? An “unwilling transaction” is either theft, fraud, or coercion, pure and simple. Why should it be legal to pay somebody to kill? That seems insane to me. Especially since the laws in many countries could/would

Buying drugs is not the only illegal thing you can do with Bitcoin though. People who do not understand what bitcoin even is, for instance, are frequently talked into using bitcoin "atms" to send money to scammers. It happens all

Think of it in the same way as email: anyone can stand up a server, the users on that server are addressable by users on other servers, and some communication can happen between them. There are obviously differences under the hood, but it&#

I think you may be over complicating this. It’s not one giant network of users like Twitter. It’s individual servers who know how to communicate with some specified protocol - just like email. How “findable” is your email address? Are there
