Specifically with SSH, I always recommend this: No passwords. Ever. Turn off PasswordAuthentication in sshd_config. Use SSH keys instead. Personally, I think if you're running SSH in this mode, it's safe to run it on the default p

You have a funny definition of vaporware. There's active work happening in public in the neovim repository, and a summary of the work to date here: http://neovim.org/news/2014/june/

Sure, I get that. However, I don't seem to have any viable ideas for a profitable business (or if I do, they don't come to mind when I'm in the mood to build something). :/

Very very very difficult. If you have to ask this question, you don't understand the monumental amount of work required. That's really blunt, but that's kind of how it is. A better, cheaper option would be to purchase a Cubes

Actually, that sounds like an awesome compromise. A tag on a paywalled article is enough of a heads up to not even bother for me (assuming, of course, that this is enough of a bother to anyone else to even consider implementing).

The gist of the idea is waffle.io for estimation, time tracking, metrics, and invoicing on Github projects. It's a pretty critical need for my current day-job employer, and there's nothing else out there that fills this role, so I

Books like this scare the hell out of me. People can't even seem to use tried-and-true crypto libraries without screwing something up most of the time. Now you want them to write their own? This sounds like an absolute disaster waiting

I'm not sure I necessarily agree with the idea that these tools need to change. They seem to work well, and there's a huge variety of tools to choose from so everyone can choose the one that works best for them. I would, however,
