The fact that Microsoft's solution failed is not a valid reason to assume Apple's won't.

Haven't used the Xbox experience so I can't really say, but it seems like this could be another situation where Apple doesn't create an entirely new concept, but rather brings it to the masses simply and beautifully. I'd sure rather have an

Don't know enough about this project, but are the putting them on the roof of this datacenter as well? Seems like a no-brainer.

For the iPhone, you'd need an app that can read it. Google's app is probably the best for it, since it provides so much functionality otherwise as well. Considering android's marketshare, though, I think these do have the potential to take

Is this a joke? Harping on Ron Paul on military spending? Seriously? The FIRST line item on his "plan" is a 15% cut of the DOD, including "all war funding ended": http://www.ronpaul2012.com/the-issues/ron-paul-plan-to-resto...

It's a start. It does not include pokes, events threads, posting on other peoples profiles, etc: lots of the stuff that it sounds like these Europeans get.

Man I want a copy of my report. Considering they're supposedly all about eliminating privacy, shouldn't they want to make all this accessible?

Can Americans get copies or their full files as well? Downloading your profile data does not have the depth of detail this does. I would love to have it all. For myself, though, not to share with everyone (like timeline).

That's my thought too. This seems like a nice landing page for a profile, but it's trying to do two very different things. It's great for your top items, but the entire timeline history should be a different product.

Good feedback, I agree completely. Got some ideas on meaningful ways to curate the data so it can be browsed. Need to get it built!

That sounds like a business idea (that I'm already working on actually). Archive everyone's personal online history and let them contribute/share their experiences with the 'collective'

This whole trope about creation vs consumption is pointing fingers in the wrong direction: why blame the iPad, when a lot of the creativity is going into tweets and likes? You mention 3 older social networks as being some kind of revolution

I am optimistic that we will see those higher-end tools in tablet form sooner, rather than later. All it would really take is a step up in multi-touch precision. Steve Jobs has famously ripped on the stylus, but to have fine pen precision (

Virtual cities are just starting to form. Many other commenters have pointed out working remotely, but it is still in its infancy. Once fully immersive VR gets cheap/effective enough, and it's as common as iPhones, there will be no need wh

I don't mean to flame or rip on Kul, but why are they letting grads of the program--with successful exits under their belts!--go through YC again? Aren't there enough awesome teams out there that need this program a first time?
