Some people, sure, but the vast majority that all this hype and investment would suggest? I'm skeptical.

The return of text adventures! How is typing out a request any better than tapping a button? Isn't the magic of AI in predicting a button press, rather than making us write out or speak the request?

Can I add the arms rather than replace? I often find myself wish I had an extra pair of hands. Or better hands, with two thumbs for example? Or tentacles instead of fingers? This could get very weird...

Return of the Folio: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm_Foleo None of the dead dot-com's were bad ideas, just too early. Same for the "subnotebook"?

Isn't this more a reflection of the limits of the qwerty layout? Both 'styles' have similar asymptotic limits because the layout simply doesn't enable faster speeds very well.

Man I'd love to sneak a peek at what else Facebook Research can do. Having all of FB as a dataset would be endlessly fascinating.

But businesses won't have to pay employees more. If anything, they can pay less because the UBI covers it. See @simonh's comment [0] to parent. [0] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=10982605

My two year old has no interest in Elmo. He's more interested (right now) in Pixar characters, and to a lesser extent Masha and the Bear. One could argue Masha is an equivalent to Elmo, though probably worse overall being a much less e

Outlook. Seriously. It supports multiple accounts I believe (I only use my work exchange account so not positive), and it has scheduling of messages. The scheduling hasn't synced very well to the desktop version in my experience, but a

Which is exactly the type of stuff Zuck is talking about here, although in less power-hungry ways. So you're kind of proving @austenallred's point.

In the US a lot of terminals that technically could support Apple Pay because they use NFC (and have the logo you mention) have explicitly disabled Apple Pay support. So the scanner 'sees' the watch and kinda starts the transactio

Wow, I've had the complete opposite experience. In most/all stores I deal with regularly, you can swipe your card at any time while they're scanning your stuff. You can do the same thing with the watch. I've been able to

This is exactly the pattern I've fallen into with the Apple Watch. It charges so fast, and my usage hasn't been that extreme. I charge it during showers and my son's bedtime, and I'm good to go.

Agreed. There's just something about the pen and paper right there, ready to go, always. Even on a phone, with the app open, you'll probably have to unlock the screen first, and tap or something to bring up the keyboard and start

This seems like the only logical reason any sane person at Amazon thought this phone would be a good idea. It's such an obvious dud in this stage. These people aren't stupid, yet there is no way this product would ever be successf
