I have had psoriasis for over 30 years now. The only consistent thing that makes it go into regression is getting a lot of sun in the late spring / summer. Unfortunately I live in a northern state, so over half of the year I do not g

That is what I plan to do when I have to start going back into the office 2 days a week in Summer 2025. Or just find another job that is full-time remote.

This is actually the first time I have heard of SQL/PSM. From Wiki, looks like it is for stored procedures. We do not do stored procedures at all on our DB2 instances. Heck, we don't even use triggers either. All our mainframe&

Yeah, this is what I have had for my past 3 phones. No bloatware issues at all. Not to mention FI is cheap as hell if you use internet mostly over wifi.

Hmm. I guess I am just not seeing the use case but not saying there isn't one. JCL, isn't hard to do. You usually just copy 80% of it from other jobs and change dataset names, etc...

I have heard horror stories about IMS but have been fortunate to never have to use it. DB2 is pretty decent and very reliable.

Are these mainframe developers or system level guys. I wouldn't use REXX to run production batch processes. I would use REXX for TSO utilities and ISREDIT macros. JCL is pretty much a must for running batch processing. It is waaaaa

COBOL is very easy to learn and write if you use it for what it was intended for. If you try to make a crud app or read from a web service, you are going to have a bad time. Trust me, I know. It can be done, but it is not pretty and was

I would rather just write code and trust the existing GC than mess around with knobs all day. I suppose there are < 1% of projects that may see some benefit in messing with the GC.

GPU mining went waaay down since Ethereum went POS (Proof of Stake) almost 2 years ago. Does BTC even use GPU's for mining? I am pretty sure they use ASICS.

I used to do the whole tent camping thing but these days, I just sleep in my vehicle. I do enough tent camping on backpacking trips.

I just got done moving all of my accounts over to Aegis. At the same time, I put the new TOTP key into Proton Pass. Aegis makes it easy to backup your keys and use more than one 2fa app for redundancy.

When I go hiking or backpacking, I turn my phone completely off so that I have battery in case I need it. My phone would be dead in under 2 days if it was constantly trying to get a cell signal.

I started using privacy about 6 months ago. It is a great service. I have changed all of my subscriptions over to them and I set a monthly or yearly limit depending on the subscription type.

Yes, it can import the wrong thing (or version) but it doesn't happen that often in my experience. If you use the libraries in other files it can go off of what is already in your go.mod file.

goimports re-adds them when you uncomment the code. Unless it is ambiguous on which lib to import which doesn't happen very often.

If you use goimports (which also runs gofmt) after commenting out code, you just have to save your file and it will remove any unused imports. There is no reason to go to the extreme extent of compiling your own modified version of go just

Just run goimports on save then there would be no issue with unused imports. I would take go's error handling over try/catch any day of the week.
