It’s not dead. Yes development is slow but there is the foundation which had a few paid devs and red hat pays some people too. Mostly it just means the scope of future plans for the project remains narrow

Uh ok. Gtk is maintained and he only said it has few maintainers. Calling the adwaita theme “cringey” seems silly to me. The latest Mac default style is very similar. Windows “native” look and feel is a joke. A ton of popular apps don’t car

https://github.com/github/dmca/tree/416da574ec0df3388f652e44... worked for me. But I can't get the tree. But if you download the repo as a zip in their gui that's the easiest way.

Regardless of what it costs to make at this price or really any I don't see the appeal. I used to get excited about similar projects but with how good my 2 pine phones are already and the pinetab that is getting delivered Thursday I al

I’m pretty sure my Dad has worked at the records facility where they are scanning that microfilm for almost 30 years now. He’s not an engineer but he actually helped with their assembly line and designed modifications to the fancy scanners

I don't have the link on hand but I saw a project recently where someone did this. Themes have been around but this guy did keyboard shortcuts and a few other tweaks all packaged up.

They definitely seem low when compared to androids, but If 2 GB works as great as it does on my iphone 7 then it should be doable to get a good experience here too. 3 GB is the max ram for the chip, hopefully they come out with a version th

From my experience most industries use and abuse people even worse. Sure my tech job is stressful but I've seen most other peoples jobs treat them worse AND compensate them for that less.

I agree except I don't want android I want one of these mobile gnu linux distros to run on it. There has been very little progress on getting things to work on most android hardware so if these guys beat the linux on android hardware p

150+ full time engineers!! no way... purism already did it with a handful. Their new shell has a great design in my opinion and it runs ok. I'm not a fan of plasma mobile but it seems ok too. The hard part it seems to me is the layers

I have a couple gtk apps in progress written in python for phones using purism's libhandy. gnome builder makes it pretty darn easy, though Gtk's docs could use some love.

Not in the suburbs... cheap automated taxis are a way more realistic idea for reducing traffic. Not just for last mile either. Switching transportation in the middle of a trip even once wastes a ton of time and adds hassle.

I came to a similar realization which prompted me to start working on a suite of GUI programs that are keyboard focused. I think that is very different than an app with good keyboard shortcuts btw which is why, for example, despite many edi

I have several gtk apps in progress for the phone. If you tried a few years ago then i understand the sentiment. It could still be much better, especially when it comes to documentation. That said it’s pretty easy to get a basic app start
