I know of applications that have been rejected not because they sucked, but because they were similar to ones that already existed. It's bad for long-term innovation, but maybe it's good for the platform by not confusing users. I personally

Find a way to do it yourself. If you don't need that much extra cash get a job on the evenings or weekends. If you require a lot of money at least get a prototype out the door.

Totally different. Socializing is happening around a directed activity here, and it's asynchronous.

Considering the complexity of the system, it doesn't seem like that much. Remember that staff at the UCal systems (7 schools now?) are all state employees. A single college would probably be paying in the tens of millions for a new payment

Reads like self-affirmation more than anything else. Frankly, in my field the ideas that are getting funded in the Bay are mostly derivative and hardly innovative - almost everyone is trying to monetize through online advertising instead of

Not to put a downer on things, but this is not going to be useful for me at all. Why should I want to chat with complete strangers about random topics. And why online?

The mortgage bailout is an effort to keep people in houses, even if they can't afford them. It keeps homes from going back on the market where competition would further lower the price level. The Bush attempts to buy stock directly in the t

I love you guys. Thanks for finding a business model that helps support independent game developers like whoever wrote that Desktop Tower Defense game.

I really, really like the simplicity of the interface. The slow-typing/auto-complete was irritating until I realized why it was taking so long, and then I liked it for finding new music. This is much better than Baidu's MP3 search. You shou

I think the new CCTV building is great. That being said, I'm reminded of a comment I read ages ago. "Spend a day in China and you can write a book. Spend a few years and you can't think of a single thing to say."

Fujitsu has some good, relatively inexpensive ultralights. I use whatever their 13.3 screen model is. Anything bigger is tough to use in an airplane/cram in a bag.
