47 here , getting paid to develop since I was 16 and still it is fun and games. I really don't understand burnout concept and self imposed stress some people have. Must be just my luck. Planning to do this as long as I can type :-)

If you are consultant it is implied that you are at least proficient in technology/tools you are using and learning on the job in that case is quite frankly immoral. Especially if you are not uprfront with your client about your suitability

I will agree with supersaiyan , you are doing something wrong. I live in same area and except junior developers I don't know anybody making 50k/year as developer. Change job.

AFAIK you can't work for US employer or perform services for US employer. Not sure that this covers outside of country services/work. This is meant to protect US jobs which you didn't take and that is a bottom line.

why ? I thought you pay tax by residence in most cases. I know when I worked in US I elected to pay taxes in Canada because I wasn't moving to states (there is tax treaty)

I am Canadian citizen and for two years I was traveling every second week to US on TN visa. In all that time I got 1 "bad" experience from US side and 2 from Canadian side. (it wasn't that bad just longer questioning with 'trick' questions)

Remember first you have to earn 10B and then spend. If you just paid taxes on 10B you will still have a lot of net gain couple of B at least. I guess haters will hate regardless.

I think you are in for some growing up. No to put down your beleifs or company you work for but getting paid unfairly (below reasonable market) is not most practical approach.
