They're funding podcasts on the condition they are Spotify-exclusive. It's not about if you enjoy it or not, but just that you need to use Spotify to listen to a particular podcaast.

Speaking of cruelty and Alexander, he was also a bloodthirsty, paranoid, alcoholic lunatic. Apart from the standard sackings and such inherent in ancient conquest, he executed many around him on shaky suspicions and killed his close friend

It's fascinating that aside from being Latin, most of that ancient graffiti could have just as easily been scribbled on a modern toilet stall. Dick jokes are fundamental to what it means to be human.

They clearly aren't regulated sufficiently. The lack of FAA oversight is what allowed the whole 737 Max fiasco to happen in the first place.

Haskell still doesn't have real referential transparency. It's all a matter of degrees and no language is pure, even Agda or Coq. The concept of IO as a world state you pass around is deeply flawed, especially with multiple cores.

It's safe to say your experience is highly atypical. Even if a grad student's stipend is not funded on an RA for their research, the research still costs money. It is certainly funded from somewhere, and it's not coming from

That's not true. Do you even know how grad school works? Research you produce and grants you pull in benefit the university. Your research also is directed by your PI, a university employee and your boss, and often involves directly as

Except that for research programs these tuition wavers are for "research credits" for the majority of grad school duration. That is, there is no classes, only work on behalf of the university. Unlike normal work, you pay them. Cal

It's actually very easy to overfit climate models. They are fit to observed data with statistical inverse problem techniques (the same as I imagine they do with astronomical data). Climate change models are just directly discretized ph

There's far more moose attacks than wolf attacks. Being afraid of wolves as a human is completely irrational. It's one of the least threats you face in the backcountry.
