The camera angles on the D:OS 1 really irked me somehow. The only one I've played in the last like decade+ that gave me that old school RPG vibe, that felt wondrous like when I was a teen in the '90s discovering PC gaming, has bee

> Coffee powder needs to be kept in a sealed container to be 'fresh' There's no shortage of those sealed containers. If someone has a Keurig machine, and is using those pods, then they also have a refrigerator and are able

I think Google will continue to have a headlock on the browser market via the forced-inclusion of Chrome (and the other 20 non-removable apps of theirs they force on you) on most all Android devices -- like Microsoft once had with IE on Win

Those messages don't appear for me in Firefox, but they do when using Edge. Clicking 'no thanks' sometimes dismisses them, however sometimes they come back at next load.

I'm glad the cat examples are low resolution. That seemingly randomized deformity is disturbing.

My family's modified rule was the ability to play off of used multiplier tiles, leading to fun with super high scores. Always a thrill to have a word take up one entire edge of the board while reaping the extra multiplier(s).

I think the problem lies with the determination of what is and isn't objectionable or dangerous. Who decides? Tech megacorps? There is plenty of content that we can all agree on being dangerous or worthy of banning, but there is plenty

If you've not done so already, peep Atwood's 'Maddaddam' trilogy. Those are a lot of fun and fairly prescient.

Lierre Keith is indeed a powerful writer; that's a fascinating read. I've spent time as a vegetarian, and ethically I find it desirable, but my body doesn't fly right without some meat.

For Android there is the Vanced Youtube app, and you can always dump all Google ads in a hole via Adguard or Blokada.

I've invested a lot of time trying to find solutions in that manner and have always ended up with hacky results, usually hideous as well. There is no cohesive solution for that Android that I've been able to find.

That's still a thing, it's just the design of widgets from app to app is disparate, usually visually clashing if multiple widgets are used. Not as clean and uniform as Windows Phone tiles. There is an Android launcher (launcher 10

It turns out my scrolling lag and rendering issues disappear when I disable smooth-scrolling. Simple fix. :)

Apparently load time is 1.5-2 seconds. I swear it often feels slower than that. shrugs That's not bad. The rendering corruption/lag issue with scrolling only happens while scrolling a message while in split-pane view, not when t

Dark mode was nice as well. To toggle from light/dark and have alnost every app follow suit was luxurious. On Android it's such a hodgepodge of light and dark, an affront to the eyes at times. Also being able to select text from m

Its search is excellent, but the load time of the program itself, of emails, is very slow for me, on both Windows and Linux. Then the rendering! As I scroll an email it struggles to render the content and lags behind. Same problems on relea

Absolutely! I use Nano, and while it's okay, it's silly non-standard GUI and shortcut key combos are a mess. Something like MS DOS Edit or Borland TC++ IDE for DOS would be killer for Windows console - also for Linux as well, whic

Windyws Phone's tile setup is still the best home screen setup for mobile. As I peep at my Android home with pretty wallpaper with acres of bhank space and uninformative icons, I pine for the informative, intelligent WP tiles. Ms Image

I think the closest tenkeyless laptop to that is the newer ThinkPad X1 Extreme models. 15", all the high end goodies, pretty much best keyboard by far of any laptop - with no numpad. Ideally I would love a 17" version with desktop

Too bad about the keyboard. That is the weakest part of the system. With that footprint I wish they'd have used a typical tenkeyless desktop layout, instead of the cramped and crippled numpad layout. Not only are the arrow keys halved

I think it is absolutely standard in that situation to at least take vitals every couple/few hours, no way around it. It's annoying to be woken up so often, but it's done for good reasons.

Never mind, that article about the routine, rampant, targeted censorship and harassment by Silicon Valley's most powerful players has been deleted, and the author has been banned from both Medium and Twitter. Sad, terrifying irony.

There are legitimate topics that can jeopardize ones career or even personal safety if you broach them publicly. For example I think stating the equations 'woman == human female' or 'lesbian == female homosexual' has got
