XML is great for documents too: <t>Some <b>text</b> is here </t> And I found some things weird, like entities and (external?) DTD references. But it's great for building your own formats. For da

YAML is really so much more than JSON. * YAML can have several 'documents' in the same file, separated by --- * there are anchors and references * easy to read multi line texts * it's also a superset of JSON I can

If your company operates in the US and uses a provider, who does not implement sanctions, does it have to enforce them on its own? I mean, something like selling a product, maybe based on open source tech in the US and cooperating with devs

It's the same with Github, sure you can host on your own domain, but "search for voctoweb on Github" is so much easier than "oh just go to my homepage at sdkljfsdl.sdf".

Well, the internet is still there. It's just that the majority mistook private spaces for public ones. Well, it is convenient I guess. Your content is being found, the interface is great, someone else is paying for servers, storage and

We're also getting better at helping young people grow and diagnosing their issues. That may be a reason behind the numbers from health, before they were just dumped on society without a higher education.

I agree, you can't (just) appeal to morality. You have to change the system (responsibly) to influence decision making. Otherwise it's just the prison dilemma game and tragedy of the commons.

The SCRUM guide is not long, it's 19 pages in a large font. If I remember correctly it does not even mention a lot of the processes which make up SCRUM for many teams. However the article is not wrong, it's too easy to make SCRUM

When dealing with user uploads, we still need content disposition headers to force browsers to treat certain formats as attachments, rather than showing them inline, right?

It's worse if your hobby attracts users. Not a lot of users, of course, but barely enough to continue. You feel responsible and can't drop it. After a while the project becomes boring and keeps you from learning new and exciting

I find the 'how to fix Linux' chapter hilarious. Anyhow, the article touches a lot of the problem zones and it would be great if companies profiting from Linux would start investing in the desktop. Regarding security Linux has som

`vim -n` should avoid the initial swap file. Or was it `-b` that triggered in-place editing? You might want to tune `set syn_maxcol=256` to avoid highlighting or disable syntax completely. It might help to set the filetype to something else

Maybe because of die German Cherry MX switches... oh the 5Q doesn't even use those. They should have called it 'Die Tastatur', sounds very rammsteiny.

It would be enough to have excellent touchpad support on one model (or chipset). We could just buy that one. At least the old Linux users were once used to buy hardware that matches their OS.

Well it was only 106 minutes long. Actually felt more like 90 minutes. I think it was great, I didn't expect a cinema blockbuster to perfectly sum up more than a decade of GitS canon. I want to see it again, just for the visuals.

Good retort. The original article seemed clueless, the part about aufs was just wrong, the complains about the apt repo exaggerated. Running docker on Debian ancient is kind of brave, though. And software is finished after five years, maybe

Security is hard to measure. Age of packages is one of the questions. Support is also the topic of several questions (paid/wiki/community..).
