In order for this to be true, she needed to make the argument that it is. She's not saying anything to that effect at all.

None of those bugs are resolved, so where was I wrong? In fact, there's this bug for H.264 support: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=541286 It was raised in January, and it's status is: "RESOLVED WONTFIX" The stable Firefox bu

It might be the default settings on the compilers as well. I believe that in our environment, we set our warning level higher than the default, because a lot of the warnings(signed/unsigned mismatch, 32/64-bit pointers, etc.) can be an ind

It's been a while since I've done this(usually by accident), but I believe that GCC and Visual Studio both throw up a warning along the lines of "Type not defined, assuming int".

Firefox only supports H.264 on Win7 and above because MS provided a plugin for the MS-provided codec. I don't believe that OSX or Linux provide it, which is why Firefox does not support it natively. Hopefully this means that they've finall

While I agree that the facebook fears are probably overblown, the TOS' language does not comfort me at all. In fact, I think that the Verge is entirely wrong in that article(IANAL, etc.). This TOS tweak allows Instagram go sell your conten

>Perhaps they need the chip in there for patent licensing reasons. Actually, maybe someone can answer this. Does anyone know exactly what the cost is(both in licensing and materials) for a 4G LTE chip vs the antenna?

iFixit's teardown showed that the device does have a 4G LTE chip, just not an antenna. http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+4+Teardown/11781/3

This could also be the source of the delays. Google could be trying to pull the LTE chip from the device.

Apple's approach(no OEMs at all, known hardware) would mitigate the problem somewhat. But that doesn't stop lazy idiots from screwing up at Apple, and it doesn't work for anyone that's providing a general-purpose OS. That's really about it
