You do have a point, it is annoying. I’ve written thousands of lines of zig code at this point, and I still frequently have to go back and fix things when the compiler informs me I left a variable or constant unused. But I think it is less

Exactly! The idea is during development you use the super fast backend that supports hot code swapping. Then when you want to make a release build you use llvm and get all the optimization benefits of a longer compilation.

Ah cool, I guess I completely missed that in my reading of the docs. Thank you for clarifying!

My understanding is that treesitter doesn't do anything with indentation. I believe the issues described in the linked issues are neovim specific. So it should be possible in theory to use treesitter data to calculate indents, though

Yep! And it also works for images too! So you no longer need to host images externally, in an issue, or in an assets directory in the repo. I wish this were more well known.

This gave me the motivation to finally setup linkding on my pi. Took all of 20 minutes and I’m absolutely loving it, thank you!

Completely agree. Though, I do think Grumpy Website [0] uses the footer & infinite scroll combo in a way that perfectly fits the site :) [0]: https://grumpy.website/

I’ve been using a really nice extension the past couple months called unhook [0] that gives a lot of control over the YouTube UI. I’ve disabled shorts, the homepage, related videos, comments, etc. and now I only see videos I have subscribed

There’s some cool applications here. I’ll have to give Linkding a try. My favorite that I use regularly is miniflux [0] rss reader. [0]: https://miniflux.app/

Try flameshot. It’s a screenshot tool that has a builtin mini editor with arrows, lines, drawing, etc. very basic but still useful for marking up a screenshot.

I agree here. I really like what Zig has done with pointer types. I wrote about it here [0]. What I like most is that all the types consistently read from left to right, and there are types that encode the cardinality of a pointer unlike C.

Because the 1950 census has just been released, those records are still being indexed and are not searchable yet [0]. I’m not sure if they release records as they are indexed, so it’s possible that it is partially searchable now. But yes, t

There's other replies in this thread linking to [0]. My personal recommendation is his Mistborn trilogy. He wrote all three before publishing any, so the books feel like a cohesive whole, but he wrote it in a way that the first book en

Yeah, if an app were truly compliant it would store caches in $XDG_CACHE_HOME and data (icons, packages, sounds, images, level data, etc. required for behavior) in $XDG_DATA_HOME. It's unfortunate that not all apps follow it
