I tried building a reddit style baord using that. The main issue became that calculating weights was more expensive than everything else combined. At one extreme you have the trust matrix which you just multiply with itself to get the nth h

Lisp is syntax which happens to be executed. Forth is execution that happens to have some syntax. If you want a dual of lisp you need to look at Joy or Factor.

I mean there is no reason to not do a digital handshake when doing a physical handshake. Just need a fairly non invasive implant.

They are OK for text input, it's the extra symbols you need for coding that are the issue. Even the () for lisp are second class characters.

No, turns out physical chorded keyboards are a lot worse than I remember for code.

When you're too cool for temporal modal editing so you invent spacial modal editing. Been using that for a while and yes it is the best parts of vim with the best parts of Emacs. The main selling point is that I can now edit lisp code

Current deep fakes are good enough to fool your mother. I've done it with friends to show what's possible.

Yeah with the advent of good deep fakes were at the point where everyone having their own private key is a must for all communication that's not face to face.

No that's sicp chapter 4 and 5. Again I have no idea why no one talks about those. They are the most mind bending parts of the book.

The first three chapters will take you a year. The next two will take you longer. I always find it odd that no one talks about the lisp book where you write a hardware simulation of a computer to run the compiler you also wrote on.

I think it's a bimodal distribution. On the one hand you have the unflappable who just calmly watch what happens. On the other you have the far too flappable who is already out of the lab and making good time out of the building and th

Ok I'll bite. How did the world survive for millions of years with bevers around before we killed most of them on every continent?

Those terrorist bevers must be stopped at all costs.

No, the people who run those are the people who couldn't cut it as reddit mods. If you want the old internet vibe the dark Web is the place to be. Tor, freenet, i2p. I'm quite partial to freenet because it's completely segreg

You just need to be as disreputable to the current establishment as we were to the previous one. Slap a swastika on it and you'll never have people trying to take over your project. Same way goatse kept the old forums from being overra

The fit question is pretty easy: able to pass the 1940 army fitness test: https://www.artofmanliness.com/health-fitness/fitness/are-yo... The others aren't and are person dependent.

Sure, the issue is that most loops are farily simple and putting the logic in the middle of a function far away from the iteration is bad. It's the same reason why I use let instead of a function when I want to encapsulate simple state

Common lisp let's you do recursion when you need it and not when you don't. Using recursion for iterating through a list is stupid because you bury the lead in the middle of a function and you do the same thing until you stop. Usi

The difference with lisps is that the debugger is always part of the runtime and you have full access to all the languages capabilities while inside. I've yet to see a C debugger which does more than a fancy version of printf. Imagine
