Not just different tailnets, but it also only works between devices on the same tailnet that aren't tagged. Awesome feature otherwise – particularly useful for quickly sending files from my iPhone to a Windows machine. AirDrop still re

I think it plays to the topics that are so often popularised here: the decline of Google Search and Rust™.

Obviously the UK is not the EU... but Starling Bank offer an API that you can use to access your personal bank account. I'm sure Monzo and other neo-banks offer similar functionality.

Appreciate the reference, I wasn't familiar with the ICAO noise standards. If I'm reading things correctly it looks like Stage 5 caps out at 50dB, whereas a cursory search on the decibel levels for a supersonic boom comes up with

Not that I disagree with you, but I'd argue the most viable route would be one the Concorde already served: New York to London over the North Atlantic.

I'm enthusiastic about what Boom are setting out to achieve, but it's my understanding that the technological/engineering challenges to supersonic flight is just one hurdle – the other being the geopolitical issues that arise

It's been awhile since I've looked into it, but are you sure the open source software is compatible with the latest Quaderno's? I've been following this issue[1] on GitHub that seems to suggest people are still holding o

Great write up. Australia has pretty good consumer protection laws.. I feel like the warranty period offered by the manufacturer could/should be superseded by the Consumers Guarantee Act – it seems reasonable to expect an AC unit to op

Seeing the logo made me wonder if this was a project spun out of Tripadvisor, they're very similar.

BetterTouchTool also includes functionality to customise Finder's context-menu. I was hoping Hammerspoon would have something similar in their arsenal of APIs, but it doesn't look like they do.

Another saga from the gypity chronicles! I really like this author's writing style. It feels like I'm reading my own inner monologue.

Yes, an iPhone. As an occasional writer of CSS, I assume the behaviour is the result of using font-size as the basis for sizing elements. As the font-size increases due to various media breakpoints triggering, so too do the elements on the

On mobile, if I zoom out to 85% everything gets smaller and more things fit on the screen (great!). Zooming out further to 75% makes everything larger... 50% and things get larger still (more so than they were at their default size at 100%)

Why? Does AGPL really matter if you're not planning on monetising whatever it is you're using it for? Not trying to be snarky, I'm genuinely curious why you'd be so vehemently opposed to it.

You're right. I found this link[1]that describes (in great detail) the seat used in the SR-71. As an aside, the website (ejectionseat.com) is a trip itself. [1] https://www.ejectionsite.com/sr1seat.htm

I don't know if it was a Martin-Baker ejection seat, but this pilot's account of surviving an ejection from 78,000 ft at Mach 3.18 (3926,664 km/h!) in a SR-71 Blackbird is pretty wild. http://www.chuckyeager.org&#x

Absolutely agree with your first point. If this machine is such a detriment to OP's productivity, surely their time would be better spent communicating this with their IT/procurement team over making a public blog post.
