While I tend to make the SUM type cases sealed, it is theoretically not required to make the sum type closed. All subtypes of a case belong by definition to that case. So any code that handles the defined cases also handles the subclasses i

To be fair, you'd still need a private constructor in Discount, otherwise the sumtype is not closed, like it is in the F# case. And the percentage Value should be `float` :)

You could make the C# code shorter by using the one-liner record syntax. That would compare the SLOC more fairly.

That's an interesting perspective, hadn't thought of it that way. Even so, the fact that everything is so overwhelming also adds to that problem in a way. Can't see the wood through the trees so to speak.

Does anyone else think that modern rpg art style and graphics are often too flashy and overwhelming? I'm tempted to try this game, but held back by its appearance.

Interesting paper. I plan on reading it in full at some point, but is there already a library that implements these ideas?

Depends on what you find interesting, but almost all banks and insurance companies run their own data center. Often multiple, for redundancy reasons

Yeah, but technically that doesn't qualify as a constant since it depends on the input. If you explicitly constrain the problem space such that the magnitude of the numbers in the list is bounded by a fixed upper bound, then it works o

My experience with fp4 has been pleasant. No problems. The only mild annoyance was the finger print unlock mechanism, which feels less user-friendly than my previous phones. But you get used to it.
