I've suffered IE10 mobile for a bit now. It's a great browser but to be honest the entire mobile web is written for WebKit. This makes it painful.

As my computer science lecturer once said to me: "there's nothing wrong with computers; humans on the other hand..." I think the future of computing is the same as the past, hopefully without as many mind-numbingly deep abs

This is especially true of recruitment agents who appear, at least in the UK, to sell your address to anyone.

Croissant! Lucky soul. They had supply problems when I went on it. We had Fosters and microwaved burger for breakfast. Not a great start to the day. It became apparent at about 11AM that the burger was poison and tried (unsuccessfully I wil

My one experience of a sleeper (London-Scotland) was horrid. Farts, sick, snoring, alcohol noises and smells all night. I hope things are better on the mainland. If not, I'd rather take a plane. I flew back from Glasgow to Stansted for

I thought that but Hacker News tends to be a good source of knowledge, inspiration and time saving ideas and products. Granted there's a 1/5 chance of finding something golden but you break even eventually. Other places, not so mu

Yep. To be honest, since excluding television I worked out I'm maximally productive for about 25-30 hours a week. I've managed to get my working hours down to that from the standard 8 hour day by minimising politics and keeping co

I think it's a little more complicated than that. If you had his background and the job in question, could you morally continue? No. If you were his employer and were involved in such things, could you continue employing him? No. Nothi

How many people other than developers can handle GPG? We have office staff, graphic designers, operations and technical authors as well using SVN. About 100 people and several separate repositories. sAMAccountName is passed through transpar

This is one of many reasons why we still use SVN. Every commit is authenticated against our LDAP server so is technically signed against a user based on their credentials.

Not all industries and sectors although it's more common than not. I've done a bit in most industries. The most successful companies I've worked for have no contacts and sell directly. The most politics-filled and most likely
