I'm not sure why this is on the front page of HN. But I'm starting to mess around with Aros so this might come in handy I guess. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out! The community is really what struck me about Scala so far. I'm coming from the WordPress world, where the community is positive & supportive for the most part.

I've been on a Functional Programming kick lately. Wrote an FP library for PHP. Done a little in JavaScript. Kicking the tires on a couple functional-first languages. Looks like Scala may be a good place to settle down & get comfy.

I miss This Developer's Life :( It's a great show. Definitely worth digging into the archives if you've never heard it.

Reading some more of this person's tweets, it appears they're upset about Google Fonts. While I agree this is a potential privacy concern, the tracking isn't "by design" of the theme developers or the CMS. Their int

It's less of a fad than it was twenty years ago, which might explain it. The people who stuck with it are probably the ones looking for a framework rather than the attention seekers.

I've been pretty happy with Enpass. Runs on pretty much everything, syncs to your choice of cloud services.

The most obvious reason is just casually glancing around my office there's two PCs, two Macs, and two phones. Any of them could be in use at a time, and often the only thing that makes this convenient is having them all access the same

Once upon a time I had a custom-coded blogging platform, a domain name, and a fairly frequently updated personal blog. And nobody read it. Once in a while I had a technical post that got a little attention, but it faded quickly. I'd me

I'm used to seeing it in financial news. But this is a tech site. Different audience. Just like how I cringe when I see terms like "the cloud" in Business Week or one of those magazines.

You know perfectly well "encouraging comments" aren't the problem. A post like that is practically fishing for "nice job" and "awesome work" comments. Those are fine and pretty much expected.
