I don’t see an issues tab so I can’t open a bug report. There are two redundant checkboxes for MacOS (differing by capitalization).

In a lot of ways Windows predates that being an option. This blog post has more of the history on that: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20190830-00/?p=10...

Windows has the concept of OpLocks on files, which open the file but can be broken by other access. When used properly that should prevent antivirus from ever preventing file deletion. The deletion would break the lock that antivirus has op

I made the same pihole to NextDNS transition. My pihole worked well for 3 years or so. Well enough that I allowed it to become inaccessible without moving lots of furniture. Then the SD card died. Instead of digging it out to fix it I tried

There is usually (always?) a hidden disk partition that is reserved for the OS. It is well hidden and tools like diskpart are needed to see that it even exists. Presumably that is your problem. The default size for the reserved partition ha

Hulu has an ad-free tier. We had to move to it because our kids have not experienced commercials and would get upset every time some came on. They just didn’t understand interruptions to what they were watching.

Windows has a version of tar included nowadays which helps with some of the non-zip formats (although only from the command line).

Syncing the time over the internet would make them a lot more consistent. Our non-smart thermostat has trouble keeping accurate time and drifts a minute per month or so. That would spread the load out more because “6am” is a ten minute wind

I recently served on jury duty for a civil case and both sides hired a doctor to make statements in their favor. I thought it was funny that each lawyer attacked the other expert in the exact same way. “How much did you bill to be here? Tha

An interesting topic and well done by the show. Just be warned that season one ends on a cliffhanger, and season two is a year away (or more). I didn’t know that and found it frustrating.

I think there are some cases with a daughterboard containing the GPU slot in a separate “heat compartment” from the rest of the case. The PCIe is extended over to that board so everything else should still be standard. It probably adds some

Yes that is what the PowerShell module is for. You can script things like ‘New-ScheduledTask’ and give it the appropriate parameters. The only thing the user would need to do is run the script. That could create the scheduled tasks and drop

The Windows Task Scheduler is probably the way to go. You can create tasks that run on a variety of schedules or events. They can run a script that does what you need. There is a PowerShell module for managing scheduled tasks. It should be

I fall into roughly the same setup. I use Feather blades from Japan (which are a “premium” option) and a 100 pack lasted me 8 years for about $40. Even for nice stuff it is so cheap per shave. I ended up coming across the idea to try this o

I think 16-bit support is actually a limitation of x86 CPUs. They can only go into 16-but mode if they booted as 32-bit. A 64-bit CPU running in 64-bit mode is incapable of running 16-bit x86 code. It is not a software limitation. This can
