Is there a grid at all? It make it hard to line things up. I was trying to select more than one object, to try aligning, but I couldn't figure out how. No shift click or option click or command click.

I wouldn't completely rule out us ever doing something in NY, if we *had* to open another YC branch it would almost certainly be in NY. Wow, as someone who lives in Boston, this makes me realize how much NYC is eclipsing us. We

I love Between the Folds as well. It totally inspired my 10 year old son, who has turned origami into a hobby.

My favorite text adventure was Pirate's Cove, on my trusty Vic 20. You can still play it, with an emulator http://www.c64gg.com/Adams_Scott_DL.html although that version seems to have some simple graphics, which is just wrong. There's mo

How about hostpikr.com. It's available. (Hostpicker is parked, so you're not competing against anyone real.) You're helping people choose a hosting service, so having "host" as the base makes more sense than "web", which is kind of generic.

I'm reading In the Plex right now. It is worth reading, however it doesn't have the same spark has Steven Levy's classic book Hackers. http://www.amazon.com/Hackers-Heroes-Computer-Revolution-Ann...

I certainly meant it as constructive feedback. Congrats on quitting your job to work on it full time. That's pretty exciting.

Also, it isn't clear landing on that page what EasyBCD does. I had to click around a bit to find out. Make a good first impression, and tell us what it is.

If the main point is to filter out recruiters, then 100 or 2 years should be fine. There's no need to filter out less active posters.

The Economist Science columnist, Babbage, had an article about this today as well. http://www.economist.com/node/21518365 It has a little more context than the wired article.

It is a little funny to see Ender's Game on HN today. Tomorrow I'm going on a fishing trip with my 10 year old son. As our evening entertainment, he wanted me to read him Ender's Game. I've got the book already packed in my bag.

No I don't think so. There is the basic set that you could get as a trial. I really love it, but as these comments show font choice is very much a personal thing.

I use Pragmata as my programming font. It isn't free, but I've used it every day for years, so it certainly has justified its cost. Visiting his site, I see there's now a pro version, so I'll have to upgrade. http://www.fsd.it/fonts/prag

Indeed, that's what I thought of. The problem for R is so bad, people have created special purpose search engines like www.rseek.org .

Try to move up the conversion funnel if you can. For example, track the number of clicks on your buy link, as opposed to the total number of conversions. That will give you bigger numbers to A/B.

If you look at the full resolution picture, you can tell that there is a piece of paper on Secretary Clinton's laptop that has been pixelated. I wonder what that was.

Here's a good public domain implementation of some fast median algorithms, in C. http://ndevilla.free.fr/median/median/index.html I've used these codes on some very large datasets, and they work very well.
