A video on top of their entire website? I have to click an X to "Skip Video"? What in hell are they thinking? That is an insane practice for a web page!

Massive speedups once you get to thousands of tests. We 12 minute runs for the 3 apps that are part of a release. When we went parallel it reduced it by 1/6 (6 test processes). Of course, we also had some slow tests we rewrote and had

Agree on the demo points here. I saw the video and want to try the product. I don't need a demo at all. Just let me sign up. Or request a beta invite, or something. I definitely don't want a sales call to show me everything I just

I like it already. I typed in some words related to my startup and it proposed some really good prompts I could turn into articles. Other content-generation sites have given terrible results and suggestions, usually in a Buzzfeed style &quo

That is interesting. If there are ways to expedite work for extra cost, that could be very valuable to travellers. If there was a way, while travelling, to get a pair of pants or a new shirt tailored with a 24 or 28 hour turnaround, I would

Exactly - most of these became standards after an entity produced a good solution in the real world and it became useful to formalize them and evolve collectively.

This is a good question. I usually have multiple PyCharm instances running and have never had a problem. I never thought about it until my wife started up PyCharm on my other computer and I got a notice saying another computer on the networ

I am having trouble understanding this viewpoint. For my position, I buy PyCharm Professional license, paying about $50 for each one year license. I plan to keep buying that license every year to get upgrades. To me, I end up paying the sam

That's an odd interpretation of snuxoll's meaning. Presumably he likes getting access to tools he can usefully use, not "thousands of channels" he doesn't care about. He gets more tools that benfit him for less than

Looks very similar to Cloudinary ( http://cloudinary.com ) which I use for my startup. The pricing at lower end of images looks better for Imgix but doesn't scale as well. Still, I think cloud-hosted image processing is a gre

Which is odd, because that means Mozilla is paying Pocket for it by funding developer and support time. The fact Pocket is not paying is a bad thing: it's a one-way drain on Mozilla resources. How is this a fair partnership?

Neither of those is a good choice. The custom Firefox-only would be a waste of developer resources. Similarly, picking a winner is also a waste of developer resources: there were already extensions that had far more functionality. Firefox s

Wired's headline is dumb as is the writer's primary hook. "Nobody noticed" except the two climbers who noticed. The article talks about how thousands of tourists didn't notice the difference from the previous day&#x

I think of it as a "where do you want complexity?" tradeoff in this whole debate. Monolithic codebases have complex code but easy deployment and monitoring and coordination (in the sense you deploy and manage one big thing). Micro

Agreed on the animations. Why must everything be moving and sliding in? Just put elements like pricing section where they should be from the beginning.

It is surprising how that has lagged behind. I haven't noticed any significant improvement for several years in the voice synthesis on Android.

I find 15 minute naps the most effective way to reset and have a productive rest of the day. I don't do it every day, but I can feel when I need one and am operating at lower effectiveness. Anything longer is bad though - if you do 30+

That could turn April 1 into the yearly "serious announcement time" because companies would know a human will spend time really thinking about valuations rather than automated systems. :)

On such a pleasant Saturday I hate to nitpick, but I do have some feedback: I think you should take a critical look at the front page and see what it is communicating. My personal take: I have no idea. A modern ticketing system... like Tick

It's a nice, clean page. I like it. Can you shrink the header image size? It is 1.4 MB. A high-quality JPG might save a good chunk of that for the same quality and the PNG.

This may make the choice easier or harder, but think about this: Do you want to walk into a place with all these processes, or do you want to help create those processes? If you want to have a strong influence on tool choices and workflow,
