If that was the absolute top priority of this country, what would America look like?

Yes, invading everyone's privacy and illegally searching them will catch more bad guys. I don't think anyone's arguing it won't. The point is, it's not worth the loss of freedom and privacy. The purpose of America i

It sleeps after 30 minutes of inactivity, right? So no hits for 30 minutes means your app goes to sleep. Then the next hit will take longer while the dyno spins up before it returns.

There's not a lot of detail about the actual case. But to me based on what's there, it sounds like a recruiter reached out and told him "you would be a great candidate to come work at Google", which is kind of what recru

"Dropbox sucks", with specific reasons why, is informative to me as a potential user. Not sure "so what?" is a reasonable test anyway. If you're snarky enough, couldn't you ask that about any article at all?

Let me guess: "too old" is five years older than whoever you ask, is.

I get how this works when I'm using a single device. But how do you identify that you're the same anonymous account when you switch from one device to another, without giving any personally identifying information?

From the article: "A note from Neil tucked inside the Pono box assures you that the Pono makes your music sound better no matter what headphones you connect to it."

A little frustrated that both the current top-level comments here seem to reflect someone not reading the article before commenting.

I always took "cultural fit" to mean stuff like, do you prefer to work only with Big Design Up Front, or are you cool with a more Agile process? Are you more comfortable at a big company, or a small one? Do you take yourself serio

Waze shows a lot more information than where police are. I don't see criminals relying on this heavily. It's not like every cop car is going to be in Waze and up-to-date or anything.
