I’m the worst of the worst. I only buy second hand paper books. Then I give them to someone when I’ve read them! This is incidentally after a kindle phase terminated by Amazon after I returned too much of their third rate junk that didn’t w

I genuinely don’t think such folk have as much influence and power as everyone thinks. In my (direct) experience it’s just a complete mess and they’re reacting naively to every problem. They’re fighting a battle against the real problem whi

I’m not suggesting that at all. I am simply suggesting that bureaucracies have their own specific failure models. I am very pro regulation.

I don’t think it’s a conspiracy or corruption. It’s just design by committee bureaucracy. It always fails into that state.

Going on holiday is why I work. And I use organic maps when I’m on holiday. And donate. Good luck to them.

I don’t care what it does really. It’s another tool. It’s the economics that make no sense. That situation has been demonstrably getting progressively worse.

Yes. However this one is a bit weird. Every software purchase process I have been involved in I have asked the vendor to demonstrate their claims against our requirements. With AI, I am expected to defend myself from claims that my requirem

Looks like we’re doing this in the UK soon too. Edit: not sure what the downvotes are. Burnham literally said he’ll do it today.

Depends exactly what you mean by embedded but Rust isn’t as common as people make it out to be there. In some aread it’s almost entirely unheard of. C will be king for a while yet. There’s a lot of Ada floating around too.

You shouldn’t build a business that relies on any of these models. It’s a geopolitical and sovereignty risk now. Someone could just rug pull your entire stack.
