Because the "evil app" is just a specially crafted JPG that your browser opened up that triggers some edge case in the old unpatched version of Wireshark that is inspecting traffic.

I entered "Melbourne" and was surprised (stupidly) that it never went far from the city. I wouldn't mind it just picking some other destinations given a week or so.

I don't think you need to use binary blog GUI clients for Telegram. Here's the source to many clients: https://github.com/TelegramOrg

Agreed on Apex Legends, which now that I think about it seems kind of odd. I think a game that builds tension like that, where games can last 20-30mins, where a teammates mistakes can easily cost you the game, is asking for toxicity, but I

Not only is this very informative, but such a slick user experience too. Largely plain text with some simple diagrams, but click on things (e.g. "pointy" or "flat") and see not only the diagrams change but the code too!

Like contract testing? https://docs.pact.io/ That's more for HTTP communication between services but I wonder if you could build something similar for libraries.

This may sound like an odd request but at a creative codejam in Berlin a while back I saw something like this but "multiplayer" - different people could log on to a room and edit live. In this example they couldn't edit each

Does anyone understand why cash is so common in Germany (or why cards are so rarely accepted)? I didn't expect it from a modern first world European country.

I agree. Though it's odd that the placebo effect seems to be getting stronger over the years (according to the article) - I would have thought it would have weakened as the concept spread through the public.

Both services seem like great ideas that have largely gone extinct. Radio that you never lose reception with... streaming music with a user-seeded playlist... just hard to get excited about in 2018. Or 2008 really.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but if the tech industry claims that you can't make a backdoor safe, how do they keep safe their update mechanisms? Aren't they basically backdoors-by-design?

That's the service that mlab.com offers (which we use and are happy with). It does mean you have to be a little careful about your queries though, and cache if necessary.

That was a great analysis. If anyone is interesting on this topic, I highly recommend Talking Funny. Four comedic greats talk about comedy - of course there's lots of laughing but it's just fascinating. Full video on youtube, too:
