Why would you need root access and unlockable devices to produce code ? Do you have access to the microcode of your CPU ? Can’t you code on a Mac ? I agree that it would be better for everyone if there were competitive fully open source pla

I’m really not sure about that. By definition, high entropy means high information density (information per character). So with the same amount of information you would have less characters.

The fact that we even have to debate about which laptop is good for Linux or not makes me not want to bother. I switched to Mac 12 years ago, and I never had to bother thinking about choosing hardware since. It just works.

Just to be clear: This perfectly fine experience you describe is also exactly the experience of 99% of Apple users, including me. You only hear the ones that complain.

I agree. At this point Zucks metaverse sounds just like another XBox Home Screen, in VR. A place were you want to spend as little time as possible, on your way to use the real apps.

Yeah ok, sure, the dozens of UX designers doing A/B testing all the time at UberEats are all wrong, and you are the only person to know what good UX is. And as a user of UberEats, all my perceptions are wrong: The good experience I hav

I don’t disagree with you on future energy abundance. I too am an optimist. Renewables and Nuclear are a thing. All I’m saying is that if we continue at this rate of carbon emissions, even only 10years, nevermind 30years (the time to develo

Some figures to keep in mind, since CO2 is absent from your calculations: Flying from SFO to LAX and back costs 0.2 Tons of CO2. That’s more than a month of your CO2 quota if we want to limit climate change to +1.5C. CO2 budget should be 2
