I'm surprised this is upvoted so much. All we have is a LinkedIn post and a GitHub repo. We haven't seen any of the original emails/writing from UW, not have we heard UW's view. Am I being overly skeptical here?

Oh absolutely, most of the value is being there not in the credit hours. At Cambridge Uni you can't just condense the time for a BA, no matter how brilliant you are. You spend time 3y on learning. If you're fast, you just learn mo

I think you don't mean "statistically significant" here, but something like "relevant" instead. Something can be statistically significant and entirely irrelevant if the effect size is too small.

This isn't a real word (yet) of course (at least no Google hits). Just made it up on the spot.

Wow, really? So you just pay for a year instead of 4 years? Why do people not do that more?

You write: "I'm scheduled to graduate in a few months" Is the UW CS Bachelor just 2 years? Your LinkedIn profile states that you started there mid-2023, so you've been there for just 1.5y. What am I missing?

They'll probably just hire the same person anyways, just call them prompt engineer, not software engineer.

One half of me is sympathetic with you, the other wonders whether you're trying to get attention for a job (this is how the end of your LinkedIn post makes it sound). It's hard to judge from the outside as you haven't shared

I never suggested that Yahoo uses 512bit keys, that's a misunderstanding. The article clearly states that Yahoo is one of the 3 clients that didn't reject 512bit keys the way they should per RFC. Yahoo Mail inbox users are vulnera

Those 1,700 are easy to find though, just need to dig a bunch of domain names and you'll find plenty vulnerable ones that you can spoof. Yahoo Mail has a market share on the order of 3%. So a black hat could then target a decent chunk

Nice case study of how far LLMs are from AGI. I gave it to o1 instead of 4o, testing whether the thinking tokens help. Alas, they don't. It never came up with the "obvious" "skip-if-between" improvement over the nai
