Ah, I've started this one already. But htop is a formula not a cask so this doesn't help.

Thanks, that almost worked, needed the following (extra --force tap of core and link --overwrite) brew tap-new $USER/local-tap brew tap homebrew/core --force brew extract --version=3.3.0 htop $USER/local-tap brew in

You are right that using double log axes could be better, but the author doesn't ask for y-axis to be log-scaled but for x-axis to be linear.

Forking might be the wrong word, what happened here looks more like (somewhat obfuscated) plagiarism. I analyzed the 2 repositories for copy/pasted lines using PMD's CPD (copy/paste detector) - using the first commit of peerd

Why is it a perfect example? Logarithmic axes are very useful and there's no way a lot with linear axis would have made sense here. Logarithmic axes are the norm for showing scaling, power law effects etc. Once you get used to them the

TFA thinks that logarithmic x-axes are misleading. That's just not true here. I looked at the preprint and it's the right way to display data over such a large range. The whole point is that below a threshold, you can increase tra

Indeed, the one thing I was looking for was Elo/performance of the quantized models, not how good the base model is. Showing how much memory is saved by quantization in a figure is a bit of an insult to the intelligence of the reader.

The names of dialects aren't super useful to people who aren't from the UK. Also, dialects often are continua, so drawing borders without any sort of hierarchy to indicate closeness is quite pointless. What would be cool if one co

I haven't read the paper but it's likely just some fancy spectroscopy: looking at the wavelengths that are absorbed. Each molecule has a characteristic pattern.
