Yeah, this hadn’t really occurred to me when I initially designed it. But it’s now my largest concern as well.

Yeah, someone stole my video and posted it on LinkedIn and it just blew up over there. I got super lucky to be honest…

Thanks for posting this! I’m the guy behind the project, and I’ll try to answer any questions about the project here.

They have been great. I feel like they run a good honest transparent operation. I think they are also pretty picky about which projects they take on; I applied before the campaign and they didn’t want to get on board, but that changed after

It uses a small CR2320 battery. To access the battery you'll need to remove a sticker on the back cover, and then the battery is glued in with hot glue, so you'll need some pliers to remove the glue, and then you'll need a sm

Great points. The storytelling is still weak though ;) I would cut the word count in half and you might have something great.

Really? That’s not clear to me at all yet.

Subscribed. Cool idea. Will it be taken over by robots and people gaming the system for upvotes? Most definitely. But maybe there can be some interesting conversation before that happens.

This seems like more of a sad story of people needing love and attention from the people around them so they don’t need to seek it out from anonymous people online.

You are right, getting users is hard. With a product like this, I think the best way is to just ask people face to face if they would use it. And if they say “no”, find out why not. You may not have the right product. Also, Can you use it y

I would use it. But only if it worked ;) My idea is that I want a model that will basically detect if my kid is whining or not. As a parent, I hate whining, but I also hate monitoring all the time for whining, and would love a robot to tell

Can we wave the Havel at Amazon too? I feel like they are more predatory and anti-consumer than Apple is. They take at least 30% bu the time you consider that you are practically forced to buy their ads, FBA, deal with (amazon’s) counterfei

I am always thinking about what the product could be 2-5 years from now, and I'm not even a "leader." Maybe ask your underlings what their opinions are of where the product could be 5 years from now...

I kind of hope that both companies just decide to not shut down the app in California. Otherwise I’m nervous that other cities might end up subsidizing the California market.

Could both companies require employees to be full time? Thereby restricting employees to one company? Although, if everyone did prefer driving for uber over driving for lyft, I’m sure lyft would sweeten the pot to the point that they were c

I have this same question. I usually do the same thing. Post on reddit a few times, ShowHN, product hunt etc. I got lucky and one of my side projects, deckofcardsapi.com, really took off because of HN, but I haven't been able to replic

I have the same question. Sometimes it seems like everyone on HN is reading a non-fiction book, a fiction book, exercising regularly, has 2 kids, just defeated depression, is 2 weeks away from finishing their side project, and has a $150k&#

After reading Open Borders by Bryan Cahlan, I’m convinced that if there is a burden on the host country it’s temporary. Long term, I think the host country has much more to gain than to lose.
