The results are rather wrong, i.e offensive to the eye (try creating aromatic compounds), but as a GUI prototype, it's pretty neat.

It's pretty hard (even if you are a great programmer). If you are looking to find a great programmer who's available long-term, hire someone who's PROVABLY great and available short-term to do the interviews/search for you. Think Stroustrup

I don't know about "modern" and "expressive", but it's definitely faster, and I really like the fact that the compiler catches 95% of the silly errors I'd make in a dynamically typed language.
