Been lucky enough to be following pretty much exactly this list recently. I confirm that it can work, in the sense of making you very productive, but it is also just a very enjoyable and fulfilling way to live. Yes, you have to earn money,

Ok, yes that sounds pretty cool. It feels like there are much simpler ways to support pay on reveal secret directly on the bitcoin blockchain, if this is accepted as an important goal (e.g. with explicit conditional redemption conditions

How it worked was that each lemming was actually treated for collision purposes as if it was a single dot, and that was tested against some kind of bitmap for where there was solid ground. (I think! I remember, with a friend, implementing o

Of course code quality is important, but some good points here, and I agree that 'technical debt' is quite different from financial debt. For example (beyond the points made in the post) maybe you have 'technical debt' o

Great post! One thing to note with tetrahedral decomposition is that while you can always triangulate non-self-intersecting 2D boundaries into triangulations, using just the boundary verts, this doesn't extend to 3D boundaries and tetr

To clarify with respect to the linked article and technique, this is about a genetically modified individual passing on the modification to their children. There's no 'chain reaction' through existing fully grown cells and th

Well no, they occupy around 7/8 of the state space (if the symmetries buy you a factor of 8). But I guess the point is that the state space is so large that the factor of 8 still doesn't do a lot to make things tractable..

Yeah, it's kind of like: There's a problem with too many people making blog posts with dubious metaphors for monads, so here's a blog post with another dubious metaphor for monads. Quite liked the post, nevertheless..

I didn't read all that, but it seems like the issue there is that, if the compiler sees you are reading from uninitialised memory, then it can effectively 'choose' a value for the contents of that memory to suit it's opt
