If anyone is interested in a little script that grabs an image from a webcam pointed at a 7-segment LED display and returns the numbers it finds, let me know. It uses the ironically-named “Let’s Go Digital” training set for the Tesseract OC

Not shockingly, support@spotify.com is rejecting messages: 550 5.2.1 The user you are trying to contact is receiving mail at a rate that prevents additional messages from being delivered.

+1 on Cloudflare’s API for this. You can generate an API key (per domain only, I think) and it’s a simple curl call from there. And it works on their free account level! Maybe someday they’ll kill that, but they have a history of keeping fe

Mine too! Though mine was the other way ‘round: I had a frac T1 line (256kbps iirc) and shared it with two other locations via a central omni antenna. Breezecom radios that I think were frequency-hopping (pre-spread-spectrum).

Yes, I wonder how a systemd-inspired iPod would work. It would surely have multiple webservers, even if it had no network connection.

I wish you great luck and success. This just seems part of a long cycle to me (of course, the older I get, the more everything seems like a long cycle). Google wasn’t the first search engine, and I expect it won’t be the last. Page Rank red

I’ve had good luck running pi’s for years between (power fail) reboots. One thing though - I don’t think any of my pi’s run x windows, I think they’re all console mode. I get the feeling that they do fewer writes in general this way, but I

The understatement of the universe. Plastic (fiberglass) boats can “last” (continue floating, at least) a very long time. But they can go from well-maintained and usable to immobile and dangerous in months without attention. Source: owner o

It’s pretty hard to tell how many “devices” are capable of ipv6 because they typically just ask for ipv4 DHCP addresses and get them from routers. My guess is that it is still a tiny minority of non-computer devices that will use ipv6 on th

I think this is the essential fact, thanks for posting. Lots of people complain about the “insecurity” of email, but as long as you want this feature (sending anyone a message knowing nothing more than just their email address), there will

This post is missing what is a very common DNS mis-configuration: extra, and/or lame delegations. The root will return the list of authoritative nameservers, but each of those authoritative servers may have a different list - and tha

I think what the parent is saying is that the nameserver information coming from the registrar’s Whois may not be accurate in any way compared to what is actually in the DNS. The DNS (and, by extension, the authoritative nameservers for a

Surprised there aren’t more comments here - does everyone agree that this is equivalent (in security terms) to using JWT? I would very like to never use JWTs again.

Or even mention the “value” of the many DeFi apps that are available on the ethereum blockchain. What do they do? My real question is: why would an investor want to put money into a company that doesn’t “own” the data from their customers?

I think ozone is one of those chemicals. Department stores in the 1950's used to pump it in to subtly mask mustiness or "store smell" so that the distinct smells of departments like perfume were more distinct.
