Signed up! I'd love to see a little more flexibility in putting some kinds of numbers in, especially as someone not great with understanding financial data. For instance, I'm currently plugging numbers in about my mortgage. I know

Google seems determined to lose me as a customer altogether. - 2013: Google kills Google Reader for RSS feeds. Never found a replacement I was as happy with. - 2014: I loved the first version of AngularJS. Angular 2.0 was a complete rewrite

I used the old Google Pay for both tap-to-pay and for organizing my various membership cards. Gas, grocery, coupons, things like that. Since sticking various memberships cards in it, some of the old physical cards have been lost and I hope

I've been using Nebula more frequently. Only one monthly payment for the whole platform, zero ads. A lot of my favorite YouTube content creators have been uploading their videos there too. And not just uploading the same videos, but hi

There's an issue with the recommended "default" setup of Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi, where it will set up a database for recording events. But these ends up being a ton of writes to the SD card over time. If anyone else

Gmail was so groundbreaking when it first came out in 2004. AJAX was barely a thing, and Gmail used it in spades everywhere. I remember it being mindblowing when you didn't have to wait for full page refreshes for simple actions. My pr

Dropbox. I've used it for a decade, but now it's slow, bloated, and takes over CPU and memory like there isn't a single other program I need to run... and I was paying $20 for the privilege. But a few weeks ago I switched to

Nerdwriter has an excellent video explaining the painting in detail. I'm excited to rewatch this while being able to view the painting in even greater detail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E8f64yj1Jk

Intriguing! Opens up some interesting possibilities. User-submitted javascript for manipulating data, without exposing other users to XSS attacks?

Internet Explorer 2, in 1995, had support for VRML. A full 20 years before the Oculus Rift officially launched. I had never heard of that markup language and had to Google it. Talk about being ahead of its time...

This is what I've heard (at least in Pennsylvania where I work, and from a number of family members and friends working in different HR departments.) IANAL. Non-competes are unenforceable because you cannot take away someone's rig

I love OmniFocus, but have always been bothered by a lack of web interface or Android client. (I use Focus GTD as an unofficial client on Android, and it's less than perfect at best.) I've been looking for something like this. Goi

Same. I've considered making my own interface for building family trees, as an exercise in UX design. But I'd want it to plug directly into Geni. You can't beat the feature to find other users' trees that match yours. Fi

I want to switch over to Bitwig completely, but I've also been learning Max/MSP. Bitwig would make me more productive IMO, but Max/MSP is a creative goldmine. I can't really take Max/MSP with me to Bitwig, I don

I love this. My single regret about doing programming for a living is that I rarely have anything physical to show for my work at the end of the day. I've been looking at hobbies to pick up that involve making things with my hands. Thi
