Microsoft's efforts in Z3 and Lean to make IDEs interactive theorem provers is going to change how we code. I'm curious which will be the first to adopt FPGAs and Micron Automata style processors in memory.

Prisms for wave division multiplex keep on getting more color channels while speed of light stays the same. What is the physical limit of prisms?

Every chip reader in Des Moines uses the same reader hardware, and every software install on them is radically different. Somebody is making bank writing the glitchy touch screen apps.

Congrats. I have mixed feelings about Sage. I regularly shell out to Python for many of the underlying libraries, but I rarely use the Sage GUI.

https://twitter.com/lambdamart Also have the LambdaMart.com domain purchased. If you need some AWS Lambda functions give us a holler. We can do C/C++/Haskell/Bash in addition to the officially supported SDKs.

Looking to monetize a suite of AWS Lambda functions. Licensing code to larger orgs, and as a service. More focus on algos with high CPU/IO ratio, but no problem with S3 file transforms etc. Just myself and a marketing/sales guy. N

Definitely. Most software vulnerabilities are from failure to write formal parsers on on all inputs. Is there a command line YACC for compiling simple stuff?

I would add to that list Nokogiri, "The Chainsaw". xsltproc is ubiquitous, but writing xslt is akin to having a pack of wild monkeys compose a mural with their excrement.

That's easy. Replacing all the hoards of other handwritten input parsers with formal parsers is the task at hand. The new bounty will be for proofs of input parser correctness, not exploits.

Rule of the day. Ad hock parsers are the #1 infosec issue. AFL is the Killer Rabbit. The only defense is writing formal parsers on all inputs.

I remember taking assembler class circa 1998 on a VAX at Drake University. 8 addressing modes and that floating point that wrapped around like a snake eating it's tail. I don't want a RasPi or an Arduino. I want a VAX on USB.

What's new is that they are using FP instead of C++ to deliver results quickly and more reliably. These aren't the quants from the 90s that were Physics PhDs applying the latest and greatest in differential equations and whatnot.

IBM is failing at devops. It needs to license developer versions of DB2, MQ, and Websphere at free so devs can containerize and spin up instances for unit tests on a whim. It needs to advocate a liquibase type solution too. Fortune 500 IBM
