Steve King is the symptom of NW Iowa not being heard. Tyson with help from the Obama USDA killed off all local meat processing by enforcing even small town meat processors to have a full time USDA inspector . They see the Mexicans working

This makes sense. Barely mutated cancers are harder to distinguish from cells with benign mutations.

Essentially. While major settlements might happen on a global blockchain, you have to federate smaller settlements for it to scale. Cheapest is using a trusted third party. Curious to see nonprofit credit unions start rolling out blockchain

Far from invisible in the Des Moines market. Mainframe is still king of CA systems in the CAP model.

Iowan here. They can still charge you with "annoying" speech under Iowa Code 708.7. Gary Dickey's win is great, but not the full monty.

More like Mongo gave AWS the finger, then AWS said fine and started using Postgres. Now Mongo is upset that they have an inferior product that is losing market share because they killed of their potentially laregest cloud deployment.

As soon as AWS offers ARM Lambda instances I'll probably use them. Once commodity it's price for integer compute. Floating point may take longer to port everything.

It's deeper than transaction costs. CAP theorem, C being consistency, has many information processing frameworks as "not efficient" in that there is information asymmetry. Add on top this that market information is many time

Kolmogorov had deep insight into bandwidth needed to send information, i.e. the limits of compression. Shannon showed the limits of communication over a noisy channel. CAP teased out constraints on distributed information processing systems

I've been meaning to write an essay on Modern Austrian economics that takes into account results after 1930 from Kolmogorov, Shannon, and CAP theorem. Policies that work at a local level don't scale to a Frederal level. Even with

SQLite is just a flat file database format. You can use stock Rust, Python, C++ SQLite client. Probably want to shard the SQLite files to prevent hot spots on write locks. Use a quadtree for geospatial sharding.

Writes are the only reason you need DynamoDB. Even then you can replicate to S3 so reads remain cheap. Only issue is transactional writes, but those can wait for S3 write confirmation in the lock. For example bank statement, ok to read from

Or just use SQLite backed by S3. Most latency is to the data center. No need for DynamoDB billing overhead. Cache 5mb or so of most frequent static data in the Lambda.
