I've found really saddening to see students submit written-by-ChatGPT arguments to the department council when their university spot was on the line (for failing grades). This was their ultimate chance to prove their worth and they lef

The 145% tariff is so absurd I wouldn't be surprised to see cheap chips glued to the item to exploit the exceptions. "Oh yeah, that's not a shoe: it's the protective case for an ESP32 WiFi router".

Rereading myself it looks like I'm blaming Textual for being too much work to use but it's not the case! I wanted to say that powerful (T)UIs have inherent complexity coming with the territory: async, events, UI thread, reactivity

Ncurses has always been on my list of cool things I wanted to learn but couldn't invest the time to actually build something with. Then I found Textual (Python library, https://textual.textualize.io/ ) which feels like

What would be the best course of action for them if they don't win the appeal? I guess they don't really want to raise more money to put in the pocket of an oil company... Should they declare bankruptcy and start all over again?

I had one extensive exchange with ChatGPT to generate an image of a man and a woman working together on a leather crafting project. No matter the prompt, the man was systematically the one "working" and the woman being there to

There is a real problem with the connector design somewhere: der8auer tested with his own RTX 5090FE and saw two of the cable strands reach concerning temperatures (>150ºC). Video timestamp: https://youtu.be/Ndmoi1s0ZaY?t

That's also why HyDE (Hypothetical Document Embeddings) can work better when the context isn't clear. Instead of embedding the user question directly – and risk retrieving chunks that look like the question – you ask a LLM to hall

(Tangentially related) I had to run the desktop version of Excel to develop a quick VBA macro for a client. Problem: I've been developing on a Linux box for years and the idea of leaving my cozy dev environment for a plain Windows inst
