This might be an unpopular opinion here, but.. It doesn't bother me too much. I would rather pay 10% less than have a 10% bigger seat. This way the businessmen who care and want to pay for business class can fund the airline, so that I

In NZ we definitely pronounce it "historic". But that doesn't stop the news anchors from saying "an historic". It sounds ridiculous

Loads of these in NZ cities. They're easily the best type of intersection for urban centres. We have countdown timers on the crossings so pedestrians know how long they have (25 seconds), which makes them even more useful, and prevents

For web map tiles (millions of tiny PNGs), everyone who's anyone stores their tiles in sqlite rather than on disk: https://www.mapbox.com/help/an-open-platform/#mbtiles

As a happily married person I'd like to say: please don't get married. Integrity is important. If you do not mean the words, dont say them. Getting married and not making every effort to stay that way cheapens the concept for thos

Auckland at least is making steady progress, depending on where your commute is. I cycle an hour each way to work, and there's only about 500m total where I have to join the car lanes. Rest of the way it's bus and cycle lanes.

I'd love to try this out, it looks amazing. But it's just not acceptable to send all the code to the cloud. I'd love to use a self-hosted version though.

In the US, and on wired connection maybe. In NZ the largest mobile plan I can even find has 5GB. Another one with flat rate for data is $50 for 3GB (so $250 for this 14GB day). If I load a webpage on my mobile data that uses 10MB of data, I

Initially hesitated to switch to 1Password since some of our team used Linux but eventually we all switched to Mac so that went away. Much happier with 1Password since we switched from Lastpass. Consistent UI, proper OS integration, multipl
