Since reading this blog post from Intridea, I've received multiple targeted ads for Intridea on other sites. I find targeted ads creepy.

A easy takeaway for me from the video was that people are more productive when they work on things that interest them. This just makes sense. What was interesting to me is that it wasn't as much of Google's famous "20%" concept. All they

Not that you'd want to do so, but if you're inclined to use a pastebin for such things, I have https://privatepaste.com which does not expose pastes to indexing unless specifically requested in the vhost configuration.

Depending on your use... my ipad is going to and from work with me now instead of my laptop. I've got the iPad Keyboard dock in both places. It's a lot to carry on the road but for normal day to day, with a good ssh client and editor, I'd h

iPad (Keyboard) dock and/or Bluetooth Keyboard? If you're in to minimalism, a good ssh client and/or editor are all that are needed. Coda on the iPad would make my day.

What's interesting, unless I'm missing something, Siemens owns the trademark on iPad: Word Mark IPAD Goods and Services IC 007. US 013 019 021 023 031 034 035. G & S: ENGINES, NOT FOR LAND VEHICLES; ELECTRIC MOTORS FOR MACHINES AND ELEC

RabbitMQ really is not "Cloud Messaging Technology" at its core. It's an erlang based message broker that implements the AMQP standard. I'm not sure why Spring is marketing it as a cloud technology other than for marketing purposes.

Not only is the comment driving traffic to their site tasteless, the site itself is a terrible, cluttered mess.

Here's a plug for my pastebin: http://privatepaste.com which supports custom hosts with different defaults, http://hn.privatepaste.com or http://python.privatepaste.com for example.

While David had dismissed CPU affinity because of the potential of other threads in the stack not benefitting from additional cores, I wanted to test and see what impact it would have. Granted these are single run #'s on linux, but it's in

I was fortunate enough to attend this talk. It was quite an eye-opener as far as how wonky thread performance is. The overall equation seems to be something like: # of threads * # of cores == context switch storm density. David was

Thanks for the Option-Command-F11 tip. They should give an icon or something when it's in full screen mode, it seems to interfere with all other Mac keystrokes. I ended up quitting the app to get out of it.
