That does not match my experience in NY suburbs. Amazon is evenly split between UPS and USPS. Other merchants are Fedex Home Delivery, UPS or USPS also fairly evenly split.

I'm 38 now. I have been on the pump/CGM (MM670G) for just under three years. I was on pills for 2-3 years, at first the metformin and glimiperide were enough and I got my A1C back to the sixes; but I maxed those out and it was c

I was diagnosed when I was 30 (A1C of 13). After maxing out pills (7 a day between Metformin, Glimperide, Onglyza, Invokana), I went to multiple daily injections, and then a pump with CGM. The pump is life changing as far as getting bette

I took Jory Brigham's TWW guild Hank Chair class, he said something like 30% of his shop time is spent sanding. For me, finishing is not as fun as joinery; but patience during the sanding and finishing is absolutely essential to a good

You are totally right about furniture, though if you enjoy it; it can certainly be worth while. With practice you can save money over higher end places like Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn that might have more interesting design than Ikea

If 'we' forgive the rent owed to landlords, what about the property taxes that can be just as large as the mortgage. NYS has an eviction moratorium, but they still want their taxes.

If you are going to invest the effort in a set of dining chairs, I would recommend watching the Wood Whisperer guild dining chair videos. I have made a Hank chair and high chairs, but have never made a dining char. I did buy the class and

It would have been a second home, so centralized fire monitoring and flood sensors would have potentially been useful for us. Things like the panel being hardwired instead of cellular, etc. shouldn't be given out over the phone.

Lots of the comments don't trust Google, but I'm not sure I would trust ADT. I was looking to buy a house, which had an ADT system installed. I just called them up, asked about the address, how much monitoring would cost, etc. a

Yes, but neither is the rent for an in-store experience. Having the item of the price subsidize the shipping vs. pay the merchant's rent is not all that different.

I'll counter that I went to SUNY Stony Brook and have not felt that I was shut out of any interviewing at any company because of it. At this point, my degree from 14 years ago is not nearly as important as the connections I've m

The majority of US consumer grade ratchet/wrench sets have both US and metric sizes. There are enough metric nuts and bolts in random things that you really do need both.

I unfortunately know more than I would like about dog eyes, because my 4 year old GSD had cataracts. Some of the differences the vet told me are interesting. Dogs vision is about 20/200 in general, and they can only use their lens to

Metal detectors and bag searches are not the norm in American suburbs. Post school shootings, the changes made in my district were that the front door is locked by default and you need to ring the bell and be buzzed in.

Festool has started sponsoring TOH, but they used the tools before that. The track saw, domino, sanders, and dust extractors are very well built tools. The amount of dust from my Dewalt 5" ROS was night and day compared to the 125mm

A minimax bandsaw costs about $2-3000. A sawstop around $3000. A jointer/planer combo another $5000. So you're all in for a complete woodworking setup for $10,000. But then you need a couple hundred square feet to put them in

A fire on a Sawstop can cost you close to $400 if you destroy a dado stack and the cartridge, but the saw itself is fine. An advantage of the REAXX technology is that the blade is fine, only the cartridge is expended.

In suburban NY you don't have ubiquitous natural gas. Some, but not all, new developments are natural gas, but many existing ones are heating oil. Propane is also a possibility, but much more expensive so is not used as often as oil

The "choice between being alive and being jobless" is a matter of probabilities, which people are not great at. If you are not elderly, you likely have a higher chance of being unemployed than dying of COVID-19. So the choice is
